An unexpected twist

In the dynamic world of renewable energy, we regularly face unexpected twists and turns that sometimes bring new opportunities. One such twist occurred when an original promoter withdrew from the development of a new wind farm to be built, located in Ridderkerk at the Nieuw Reijerwaard industrial park. The three cooperating municipalities in the Nieuw Reijerwaard municipal arrangement, namely Rotterdam, Ridderkerk and Barendrecht, did not leave it at that and asked IN.credible to investigate the financial feasibility of the project.

Provides new opportunities

We took that challenge with both hands and conducted an in-depth study. Despite the challenges, our analysis showed that under certain conditions, development of the park is still possible. The municipality of Ridderkerk took over from the joint arrangement and is now committed to developing the wind farm. Based in part on advice from IN.credible, the municipality is also looking explicitly at local ownership for a sustainable and successful realization of the project.
